Rudi Lion, MFT Intern
Rudi Lion received her masters in counseling psychology from Pacifica University in 2006. Prior to working for the Family Therapy Institute, she provided low fee therapy at the Community Counseling Center in Santa Barbara. Rudi is also trained in a more body focused form of therapy called applied neurogenics, as well as in EMDR.
Rudi works with individuals, family and couples, with a special love for couples. In her work with couples, she likes to use the attachment lens. Attachment theory teaches that without a basic feeling of safety, the relationship, instead of being a haven, can become a place of disappointments and frustration. Rudi helps couples find their way back to the safe haven.
She lives with her partner and her two children in Santa Barbara and is a native of Switzerland. Rudi loves hiking and the special feeling of solace that nature can provide. She also loves to read novels and poetry and is trying to become the next master painter.
